3 Keys for a Life of Prayer | DerDiz

A house is no stronger than its foundation. All the different parts of a house will be affected by the foundation upon which the house sits.

What a foundation is to a house, the question “Does God Almighty exist?” is to life. Our belief of disbelief in God forms a foundation for our thinking which colors or interprets all our thoughts about life.

Therefore, the most profound question anyone can ask is the question “Does God exist?” The reason this question is so significant is that the answer given to it will affect all the answers to all our other questions about life.

For example, let us say that a man answers this question by saying, “No, God does not exist.” Then, as this man answers the question “How shall I live in this world?” he will conclude, “I may live any way I choose. After all, I am not a created being, and I am not accountable to any higher power.

The only obligation I have is to support the happiness and productivity of fellow human beings in a reasonable way. Beyond this, what I do with my life is up to me. Since I will not live again beyond death, I must squeeze from life all the living I can.

Now, let us say that a man answers the question “Does God exist?” by saying, “Yes, He does exist.” He will have an altogether different answer to the question “How shall I live in this world?” In response to this question, he may say, “I have been created by an existence, and I must discover that purpose.

Only by finding His will and living by it can I find the peace and purpose that my Creator intended for my life. I know that someday He will call mi into account for the way I have lived in His world.”

Let us consider the question “Does God Almighty exist?” very carefully. Are there compelling reasons for believing that God exists? The Bible does not begin with an argument about the existence of God.

It actually begins with an affirmation about God: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). Scattered throughout the Bible, however, are rational evidences for the existence of God. Some are given directly, and some are given indirectly; some are expressly stated, and others are implied.

Let us summarize several of them by considering two. If you will think deeply about these two reasons, they will lead you to believe confidently that God really does exist.

Do you have a passion for photography but your photos fail to create a buzz? Do you have a burning desire to become a professional photographer? If you can answer yes to any of these questions I have the solution you have been looking for, Adobe Photoshop.

A seldom spoke of secret among professional photographers is their use of Adobe Photoshop to edit their photos. Not even professional photographers take perfect photos 100% of the time, even they fall prey to common problems such as red eye, finger over the lens, poor lighting, etc. Take a tip from the professionals and let Adobe Photoshop turn your ordinary photos into extraordinary ones.

Don't let your average photos get you down, do what the professionals do and rely on Adobe Photoshop to fix these problems. Not only can Photoshop fix red it, it can even "fix" your subject, turning even the most ordinary subject into a super model. Have you ever wondered how so many models can look so perfect each and every time? Photoshop easily removes zits, wrinkles and other imperfections and is basically the perfect "airbrush". Is your subject overweight, too old or too young, over dressed or underdressed ... Photoshop is so good that it can instantly remove 50 pounds, making your subject look like a super model and with a bit of work you can even change their outfit.

This Photoshop tutorial will now reveal a few tricks that you can use to change your photos from ordinary into extraordinary digital memories by using Adobe Photoshop Software.

Red eye is a common problem and I want to show you how you can fix it using Photoshop. It doesn't matter if you have the most expensive, advanced camera on the market, red eye will still plague you from time to time. Built into Photoshop is a red eye tool that will automatically identify and get rid of red eye, not only from your human subjects but your pets as well. ( This can also be viewed as a Photoshop video tutorial).

Unfortunately we don't always have the best lighting possible when we take our photos; fortunately we have Photoshop which contains all the tools that we need to create brighter and clearer photos with more vibrant colors. With a click on the mouse the automatic tools will clean up your image as well as improve its overall appearance. Using a slider you can adjust the brightness and contrast thereby making it look as if your photo was taken during the best possible lighting conditions. You can also manually adjust your photos color settings thereby giving you the sharpest and cleanest appearance of the image as possible. ( This can also be viewed as a Photoshop video tutorial).

Want to remove an item that is distracting the eye from your subject? Easily edit out unwanted objects and replace them with any background you choose. Was someone absent from your group shot? Easily add them in as well as any background or other item you wish, again with a few simple clicks of the mouse.

These items are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to all the things you can do using Adobe Photoshop. Hopefully you can now understand how even amateur photographers can take professional quality photographs. Using Adobe Photoshop you can turn your ordinary photos into extraordinary works of art.

  1.

What is the “act” of Baptism?  Indeed, is baptism essentially an “act” at all?  Several authors have answered that question in the affirmative and have concluded that it is an act.  But which act?

The Baptists answer these questions on the “act” of baptism saying:

Dipping is Baptizing, and Baptizing is Dipping.” Tractate by A. R., London, 1644 - This document was introduced into America by Roger Williams.

Next we read this: “The word baptize necessarily includes in its signification dipping, and that Christ by commanding to baptize has commanded to dip only.” Pg 96, John Gale

In addition we read: “When our Lord says, ‘go, baptize,’ he speaks the language of legislation; he delivers Divine law.  Does Jehovah make use of a term which properly signifies dipping?  He means as he speaks and requires immersion.”  Abraham Booth, London, 1711.  Notice the equivocation, to command dipping requires immersion.

And very simply we have this statement: “The idea of dipping is in every instance….” Pg 46, F. A. Cox, 1824.

And we must not forget the great Baptist writer Alexander Carson: “Baptidzo, in the whole history of the Greek language, has but one [meaning].  It not only signifies to dip or immerse, but it never has any other meaning.” Alexander Carson, Baptist Board of Publication, Philadelphia, 1853.  Again, notice the transition from dip to immerse.

And again we read: “In all translations of classical works Baptidzo is rendered, dip, immerse.” Pg 10, R. Fuller, Southern Baptist Board of Publications, Charleston, 1859.  Which is it, dip or immerse?

And lastly: “Baptidzo, in the whole history of the Greek language, has but one meaning.  It signifies to dip or immerse, and never has any other meaning.” pg 13, M. P. Jewett, Boston, 1854.

The mixing of the acts dipping and immersing is common with these writers.

The problem with these definitions is this: dip and immerse are two words that cannot be interchanged.  To dip is to place in and remove quickly.  Immerse is a condition of “in-ness” or envelopment that lacks the intent or power of removal.  To dip is not to immerse and to immerse is not to dip.  Each word has a distinct and different meaning—in English as well as Greek.

These various translations of Baptidzo, although not consistent with each other, are the common ones in Baptists circles.  But Baptidzo is not an act but a changed condition, state, result or an effect accomplished brought about by any one of several possible acts.

Those who are commonly called Baptists, define Baptidzo wholly as an act.  However, as we have seen, through the years they have not agreed as to what that act is specifically.  A few suggested acts would be: to imbathe (an act), to overwhelm (a condition), to plunge (an act), to submerge (a condition), to dip (an act) and to immerse (a condition).  In recent years they have more commonly adopted dip (an act) as the proper mode of baptism, but surprisingly, they inevitably spell it i-m-m-e-r-s-e (a condition—of envelopment).  The reason for this is simple, Baptidzo does not mean to dip—Bapto does.  However, since the Bible does not use the word Bapto to describe a Christian baptism, that creates a problem.  Yet for the Baptists, dip (to lower then raise up again rather quickly), is the perfect word because that is precisely what they do in their baptisms.  Unfortunately, it is not the word used in the Bible.  “All Greek writers refuse to interchange Baptidzo and Bapto; the Holy Spirit persistently refuses to employ Bapto, or to interchange it, in a single instance, with Baptidzo in speaking of Christian baptism….”

So, immerse has become the word of choice; and it is not a bad translation if you understand what immerse means—to place in (a state of “in-ness” or envelopment) and leave in.  But Baptidzo does not possess the intent or power to remove from this condition of envelopment—and thereby makes a poor substitute for dipping.

This is quite problematic for Baptists since they don’t actually immerse.  As stated, immerse means to place in some fluid without limitation to time.  In other words, the Baptists believe that “the Holy Spirit has employed a word which requires, absolutely, disciples to be put under water without making any provision for their withdrawal….”  Bapto (dip) solves that problem, but it is not the Biblical word used for Christian baptism.

Battery Christmas Lights

Most Christmas lights have to be plugged into the wall to get power. But if you could run them off batteries you could put them anywhere an outlet isn't available -- such as on a bicycle.

merry christmas light

The kind of electricity you get from the wall is called AC, and the kind you get from batteries is called DC. You have three options for running Christmas lights off DC (batteries):
* Buy a set already wired for DC.
* Use a device called an inverter which converts DC to AC.
* Rewire your Christmas lights to run off DC.

Whichever option you choose, it's important that you use LED Xmas lights because they use 90-98% less electricity than standard lights, so your batteries will last longer. A lot longer, like 16 times longer. Instead of 15 minutes with incandescents, you can get four hours with LED's. I just ran a test with a big battery and got only two hours on a 20-bulb strand of old-school lights, and a whopping 31 hours with a 20-bulb strand of LED's. Dude/dudette, use LED's.

When I first wrote this page some years ago, LED Xmas lights were rare, and there certainly weren't any wired to run off batteries, so I was sharing two big secrets: one, that you want LED's for the longer battery life, and two, how to rewire them to run off batteries. But now you can buy an off-the-shelf solution without having to rewire anything, as listed in the yellow box on the left: lights, battery, and charger. The only thing extra I added was some connectors on the ends of the wires to allow me to easily "plug" the battery to the lights or to the charger. This is a 2200mAh battery and I get 31 hours of runtime (!) with this combo.

So those three off-the-shelf products are the easiest solution. There are others, though. Here are all your options:

  1. Buy a set already wired for DC. This is far and away the easiest option. You can get them from Inirgee (which will give you a lifetime warranty), or Backwoods Solar, which has an 18-bulb strand that uses 1/2 watt, and a 36-bulb strand that uses one watt. If you know of another online source for DC LED Xmas lights I'll be happy to list it here too. I did once see a small incandescent (NON-LED) set at a Lowe's home improvement store for $1.97, but I estimate the two C batteries it takes would only last about 75 minutes, since the lights are standard (incandescent). You really have to go with LED's if you want any appreciable amount of battery life.
  2. Buy a set wired for AC and use an inverter to power it with batteries. An inverter changes DC current into AC. You connect a 12V battery to the inverter, and then just plug your Christmas lights into the standard AC outlet on the inverter. It's like a mini-power plant.
When I first wrote this page and off-the-shelf, pre-wired 12V LED Christmas lights didn't exist. Now that they do exist, there's not much reason to go with an inverter. The main reason would be if you already have an inverter or AC LED Xmas lights, so you only need the other piece to get up & running.
  3. Rewire a AC set to run off batteries. It's really easy to take a set wired for AC and rewire it run off batteries. I'll show you how to do that further down the page, with nice pretty pictures.

No matter what method you use, you'll want to know what kind of batteries to use and how long they'll last. So let's cover that now.

How much runtime you'll get from your batteries

Calculating electrical use is easy. The formula is very simple:
Volts x Amps = Watts
Usually we'll abbreviate. (e.g., 2.5V = 2.5 volts, 25W = 25 watts).
You don't even have to know what volts, amps, or watts are, as long as you know the formula.
When you use a watt of electricity for an hour, that's a watt-hour, or Wh. An amp of electricity for an hour is an amp-hour, or Ah. Batteries store such a tiny amount of electricity that they're usually rated in milliamp-hours instead of amp-hours (mAh). 1800mAh is the same as 1.8Ah.
A typical 50-bulb strand of (NON-LED) Christmas lights uses 25 watts. So each bulb uses about half a watt. (Remember that, we'll use it later.) Now we need to see how much electricity is stored in a battery.
A typical rechargeable AA battery (NiMH) puts out 1.2V and is rated at 2200mAh. Remembering that V x A = W, we see that a single battery has a capacity of 1.2V x 2.2Ah = 2.64Wh. But the lights use 25 watts. So you'd need ten batteries to power your lights for just one hour. Ouch.
You have four options for getting more runtime out of your batteries:

  • Use LED Christmas lights instead, like those from Inirgee. LED's use 80-90% less electricity than regular lights. So your batteries will last around 16 times longer.
  • Use fewer bulbs. Who says you have to use 50 lights? Use only 25 and then your batteries last twice as long. Use even fewer lights and get even more battery time.
  • Use more batteries. The more batteries you use, the more total power you'll have.
  • Use higher-capacity batteries. NiMH D-cells store up to 11,000mAh. You could also use a small lead-acid battery or a rechargable pack used for camcorders or remote-controlled toy cars.

My preferred solution is to use LED lights. That way I don't have to limit the number of lights I use or deal with buying and recharging a gazillion batteries. I get 31 hours of runtime with the setup listed in the yellow box on the top of this page. LED's offer other advantages: They don't burn out (not for about ten years, anyway), and they're rugged -- they don't break easily like regular flimsy Christmas lights. Most of the lights sold by Inirgee have permanently-mounted bulbs that can't fall out of their sockets, and they carry a lifetime warranty.
Now that we know that we need to either use LED's, few lights, or lots of battery power, let's pick a power source for our lights.

Choosing batteries

You can use standard household batteries (AA/AAA, etc.), or you can buy a battery pack, like the one listed on the top of this page. The advantage of a big battery pack is that there's only one thing to charge. A single 12V pack takes the place of ten individual household batteries. It's a lot easier to charge the one pack than ten separate batteries.
On the other hand, if your lightset requires only 2 or 4 batteries, then it's cheaper to just use those batteries than to buy a big pack. Each rechargeable battery (AA, AAA, etc.) puts out 1.2V. If you need 6.0V, then that's five batteries (5 x 1.2V = 6.0V). NON-rechargeable batteries put out more voltage (1.5V), but I don't recommend them because it's wasteful to use disposable batteries. It's certainly possible to do, but if you choose to do so then you're on your own. The numbers that follow assume you're using rechargeables. To wire up batteries to your lightset, you just need a battery holder from Radio Shack, which costs like $1 or something. If you need an odd number of batteries, like 5, then get a 4-battery holder and a 1-battery holder and tie the wires together. Connect opposite colors together (red +black).

Rewiring Christmas lights to run off batteries

Here's where you get to play mad scientist. Many devices run off only AC or DC, but lights aren't picky and will run off either. The trick is just to rewire the strand so the bulbs get the proper voltage. Remember, you really really really should use LED lights or the batteries just won't last very long. Even so, we'll use standard (non-LED) bulbs in our example below because they're the most common.
A wall outlet supplies about 120V, so if there are 50 lights in the strand, each bulb gets 2.4V. The bulbs actually want 2.5V, so supplying them only 2.4V makes them just a tiny bit dimmer, but not much, and the reduced voltage makes them last longer anyway. In our example below we'll supply 9.6V to our strand with batteries, which will power four bulbs (4 x 2.5V = 10V). Before you start screaming that four bulbs isn't enough, don't worry, in a minute I'll show you how to wire several sets of four together.
Most Xmas bulbs are 2.5V but some are different, and they could be more or less. Usually the voltage is printed on the box the lights came in or on a label on the strand. If they're LED lights then every color has a different voltage; white LED's are generally ~3.5V. If you can't find the voltage, check with the manufacturer. Also, don't assume that if a 50-bulb strand has 2.5V bulbs that a 100-bulb strand must have 1.25V bulbs; it's more likely that the 100-bulb strand is just two 50-bulb strands wired together.

Anyway, here's how to wire four 2.5V lights together:

christmas light

But what if you want to power more than four measley lights? Easy, just create several sets of four lights and hook them all together. You can have as many sets of four as you like, though the more lights you have the quicker the batteries will run out. Here's how to wire three sets of four bulbs together.

christmas light

Here's what it looks like with actual lights:

STEP 1: Make three sets of four bulbs each
I tied up the slack so the lights would be more compact.
There's nothing special between each bulb, just a continuous wire.

christmas light

STEP 2: Connect all the "heads" together.
That is, make sure the beginning of each set is connected by a wire. Normally you'd wrap the power wire around the other wires, but I made the wire separate here so it's easier to see how the wiring works.

merry christmas light

STEP 3: Connect all the "tails" together.
That is, make sure the end of each set is connected by a wire. Normally the return wire is also wrapped around the other wires. I made it separate so it's easy to see how it's wired. Note the battery pack is actually eight batteries even though only four are visible (the other four are on the bottom; it's two batteries deep).

merry christmas light

This set would last almost two hours on a set of eight AA 1.2V NiMH batteries with 1800mAH capacity each (like the kind Radio Shack sells). Remember that each bulb uses half a watt-hour per hour. So 12 bulbs use 6wH per hour. Our batteries store (8 batteries x 1.2V x 1800mAh = ) 17,280mWh, or 17 wH. Therefore our 17 wH battery pack will power this 6-watt strand for almost three hours.
So there you have it, three ways to get Christmas lights to run off batteries!

Psalm 25 reads as follows from the King James version of the Bible: Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. 25:2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. 25:3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause. 25:4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. 25:5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. 25:6 Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old. 25:7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD. 25:8 Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way. 25:9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. 25:10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. 25:11 For thy name’s sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great. 25:12 What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. 25:13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth. 25:14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. 25:15 Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net. 25:16 Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted. 25:17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses. 25:18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins. 25:19 Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred. 25:20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee. 25:21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee. 25:22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.

This is a hauntingly beautiful psalm, where David bears his soul to the Lord, and asks first and foremost that the Lord keep his soul as the God of his salvation.

David is ensnared and it is his own sins he is speaking of here that have his feet caught in a trap. His troubles are enlarged and deepened; it is as if the tide of his troubles feels to him like he is separating from the Lord and drifting away but still the chance is there that he can get back and be rescued like the swimmer caught in an overwhelming tide or current that is becoming to strong for him to contend with on his own. But David still has a sighting of his lifeguard who has to be the Lord. He says that his iniquity is great and while the psalm doesn’t detail what it is, David knew that his transgression had been great. He knows that Lord has everything about him in remembrance, and there is an awesome beauty to that alone and he asks that the Lord remember him according to his tender mercies and loving kindness for him that have been of old and have always existed for him in the mind of the Lord. He asks that he remember not the sins of his youth, where he knows in his folly he transgressed upon that very mercy and loving kindness that had been there for him of old, even in those times of his youth.

An important prayer secret is revealed right in this psalm in verse 17 where it says, “ The troubles of my heart are enlarged O bring thou me out of my distresses.”

This is a reminder to us, to pray that the Lord bring us out of trouble, or away from it. This is to be our first approach to praying about troubles as the Lord will often lead us away from troubles as for example with the parting of the Red Sea for his people.

His enemies have a cruel hatred for him, which is palpable to his soul. In verse 19 when he says consider my enemies, he knows that the Lord sees him and his situation in the reality that it is.

Even from his troubles he knows that all the paths of the Lord, are of mercy and truth.

This psalm goes very deep into the relationship between David and the Lord. He says in verse 7. “Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD”

The Lord’s mercy for David, comes out of his goodness for him, something that David has already known and experienced, that indeed the Lord has been good to him and has goodness for him which is a great goodness, not a small portion. The goodness of the Lord for David is something that did exist, and David asks for mercy for the sake of preserving that goodness of the Lord for him, which he believes he has transgressed with his sins. This key verse tells us about the nature of sin, that is opposes the goodness of the Lord for us as individuals.

No matter what is seen and what is now obscured from sight in the midst of David’s trouble he knows that the Lord sees his soul and that his goodness for him is still something that is real, is operative, and has been of old or is an original goodness equating even with original creation. Here is an important key to this psalm, that the Lord is good to people, in this case David and the scope and dimensions of this goodness are to a degree unknown but we can speculate that the goodness that the Lord manifests to an individual does not have to be limited and indeed, if the Lord has been good to you and you already know this, then an appeal can be made to this goodness as something that is of old, meaning that is had been there from the beginning, and since it was there, it’s dimensions may be larger that previously contemplated and would then extend time wise since the Lord controls time and it would come from the past and into your future. Some evidence of the Lord’s goodness to you, is evidence that this might be a very large and substantial goodness, greater maybe than the sin, and here is what David is speculating upon in this psalm as he hovers between feeling lost in the pathways of his transgression and finding his way back to the goodness of the Lord for him. When David appeals to the goodness of the Lord, he is appealing to this goodness as being directed to him individually and also something that the Lord possesses and in a sense is a prize possession of the Lord, something that the Lord holds onto, that is his goodness for David personally.

Verse 8 says, " Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way."

The Lord reaches out to sinners out of his goodness. The sinners in this verse are described as having lost their way. You don't want to sin to reach the Lord's goodness but in the case of David; he had sinned and is appealing to the goodness of the Lord from the position of having transgressed.

David also speaks in this psalm of the inheritance of the righteous that they will be at ease in the presence of the Lord and they will inherit the earth. This is more so an outline for any one who is in this type of relationship with the Lord in that the Lord will want them to feel welcome, at home, relaxed and comfortable in his presence.

A New Testament story that relates to this is the Prodigal Son, who after his roaming away is welcomed back to his inheritance and made to feel at ease.

Verse 14 says, “The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.” In the New Testament, Jesus talks of prayer in secret, and the secret in prayer goes also to the Lord revealing secrets to those in that prayer relationship that is between the one person and the Lord. The words of Jesus give a direct call to pray in secret, and part of this is that secrets will be revealed in the prayer relationship that aren’t given out except by that secret relationship.

Right there is an awesomeness of the call, being called to the secret prayer life as an individual in the presence of the almighty God who parted the Red Sea. David, has stilled his soul and turned fully to the presence of this secret relationship and is revealing some of these deep secrets right here in this particular psalm and in the other psalms written by him. So this psalm is telling, that the Lord has revealed secrets to David, who has subsequently revealed them to us in his writings. And this psalm also renders to the uttermost importance of the soul, reiterated throughout the Bible.

But one key secret we can take from this psalm with regards to any troubles is indeed that we go to the Lord to take them away from us and also put us at ease, as the Prodigal Son was welcomed back but also firmly distanced from his prior troubles as he made his way home to his Father’s house, symbolically from the story, the house of the Lord.

Spiritual Discernment for the Word of God - Christian Myths and Fairy Tales

Written by Joseph Ho, December 12th, 2009

The Christian World is now full of false teachers and prophets, preaching things which the itchy ears love to hear. They bring you myths and fairy tales stating that Jesus will solve all your problems, selling the Gospel for offering and tithes. Truth in its original unadulterated form is not very appealing to the prevailing people of our age. We now live in the world of instant gratification of our soul. We constantly seek the quick fix to all our problems when in reality we took many years to build the wrong values and principles in our lives and yet we hope against all odds that within one single moment or even in a single day that all the repercussions and the impact of our wrong actions will be taken away instantly.

The irresponsible preaching by preachers who do not know or uneven understand the heartbeat of the Lord our God, constantly aired their misconstrued opinions as Gospel truth. These over zealous preachers sell the Gospel as an ultimate cure it all. Before I proceed to explain the deeper issues there, please do not think I am against the fact that Jesus can solve all problems since he is God. The subtle difference between a God who can solve it all and the matter of the fact of whether he will solve it for you is entire two difference truth. We can not assume that just because the bible contains 6,800 blessings that all these blessings will automatically come upon a person once he says the sinners’ prayer and once he is baptized. If that was the case, then all Christians would be Billionaires, very healthy, and have great material and spiritual wealth, yet we do not see this for a fact. Don’t forget there is still the matter of justification, sanctification and glorification. Before God will bless you with anything, you have to repent of your past sin, make amendments to change and with the help of God work out the changes. This is not super grace without effort, super grace without righteous work yes, but not without effort, you still have to read your bible and walk towards the light willingly by hearing the promptings of the Holy Spirit and obey its guidance and to do the will of God and not your own will; as in thy will be done not my will.

Myth Number One: Jesus will heal all your disease all the time.

As far as I know, Jesus can heal all disease, but whether he will heal yours is another matter all together. If accepting the Lord will cause your disease to go away and you then live a disease-free life then this is a myth. If you do not believe me, simply ask your fellow Christians if they are suffering from any health issue and you will find that Christians who are baptized, tongues and spirit-filled sons of God still have health problems. Then again you might not have attended prayer request sessions where lots of Christians who are already saved and are still sick and having illness which did not go away. Coming to Jesus does not ensure you get a sick free life and live happily ever after, that is not the right theology of God. Read the Book of James and you will know the truth.

Then we come to this scripture which says by His stripes we are healed in the book of Isaiah, and preachers always quote this to infuse the meaning that coming to Jesus will cause your disease to disappear all together.

Isaiah 53:5 (King James Version)

5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Strangely enough, I have still yet to see God healing the amputees of their legs or hands. If God will solve all our problems once we become a Christian, why wouldn’t God re-grow limbs of Christians? I have seen pastors with no right arm. However, Jesus did say this:

Matthew 5:29 (New International Version)

If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

Exodus 15:26 (New International Version)

26 He said, "If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you."

I have seen Christian intercessor or prayer warrior coming down with a stroke or half body paralysis. I have also seen pastors with nose cancer. I have also seen sincere Christians with diabetes and high blood pressure. Why did the Lord God not take away all these diseases as the preachers have claimed? Did God lied when he said what he would do, or did the preachers preached something which God did not say? This is a warning from the Lord for those who speak presumptuously on behalf of God when in fact it is there own words and not the words of God.

Jeremiah 27:15 (New International Version)

15 'I have not sent them,' declares the LORD. 'They are prophesying lies in my name. Therefore, I will banish you and you will perish, both you and the prophets who prophesy to you.' "

The Truth for these people mentioned above is that there is sin in their lives. But didn’t Jesus forgive them of all their sin, past present and future, once they accepted Christ? The Truth is you need to acknowledge your sin, repent and go through a Sanctification process. The first Christian intercessor mentioned above had harbor hatred in her life against her husband and was not forgiving thus, she developed stroke on her left part of her entire body. The second being the pastor who got nose cancer which was a result of having judged someone very strongly without mercy and therefore it manifested as a nose cancer. Nose represents the matters of judgment. The third case of the diabetic was a problem with eating disorder, you are what you eat and the physical health of a person is determined by what he eats. I have also seen parents who believed this myth that when you pray to God he will always heal you and they refused to send their children to the doctors because they believe God will heal them. The result was a disaster, their kid died, so now they come to hate God for not fulfilling his promise as a healer.

Have you ever thought why God made some Christians to be medical doctors? Why would a healer God need medical doctors if he did not intend for us to be treated by them sometimes. I would like to suggest that each time we come to an impasse situation, God will create a miracle to solve our problems since we have no way out, but if there was an easier way God would almost always use that way. God works in many ways and we can not and should not force the hand of God to move the way we want him to act. This is called testing God, and Jesus caution us against this believe, when Satan tested Jesus’ understanding by asking him to jump off the building to see if you was indeed God’s son.

Did God actually promised them to heal their kid or did the preachers preach that God promised he would heal all the time no matter what, as long as it is written in the bible? These people do not understand the meaning of the Rhema Word. Static words taken from the bible can not be used literally at times because it’s not the current word, the letter without the Spirit will kill. In the days of Moses, the manna when kept for more than a day will produce maggots. The manna from heaven is symbolic representation of the Rhema Word.

Deuteronomy 8:3 (New International Version)

3 He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.

The Rhema Word is a word given to someone by God’s authorized and anointed messengers to fulfill his promise of what he would do at the present moment in time. If you don’t get this Rhema Word then God has no responsibility to fulfill anything for you since he did not say so to you. The other matter is that you need spiritual discernment to know which one is the Rhema Word from God and which one is of men and not God. Standing on the Bible promises without the actual consent from God is really foolish. But again, how can you know the consent of God when you can not even hear his replies?

Lamentations 3:37-38 (New International Version)

37 Who can speak and have it happen
if the Lord has not decreed it?

38 Is it not from the mouth of the Most High
that both calamities and good things come?

If we look carefully at the verse in Exodus 15:26 again, you shall see that there is a condition which God has stated and if you follow that diligently then he will not bring any of the disease upon you. But, many have now come to denounce the importance and truth of the Old Testament, saying, Jesus has done away with the Law. This is another misunderstanding on the part of the “Prosperity Gospel Preachers”. I lump all these materialistic seekers and super grace preachers under this label since they go hand in hand, because they have denounced the need for the Old Testament. But are they really ignoring the Old Testament, oh no, I don’t think so, they seem to love Malachi 3:10 quite a bit when it comes to offerings time. But when it comes to punishment and wrath of God, they run back to the New Testament of grace, forgiveness and mercy; aren’t they like the Pharisees of the olden days? You can not pick and choose what you like in the bible to follow its everything within that you have to observe obey and follow.

Malachi 3:10 (New International Version)

10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.

Can anyone pick and choose what they like and follow partial truths? That would again result in idolatry since they make up their own rules and regulations. Jesus warns his disciples not to follow those who fabricate traditions and preached it as Gospel truth.

1 Timothy 4:7 (New International Version)

7Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.

2 Timothy 4 (New International Version)

1In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: 2Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.

3For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

4They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. 5But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.

Surely, God can not lie, but then why is it that the preachers continue to say the things which God did not sanction. These preachers have sold the Gospel truth for Church growth and wealth. They wrongly think that because they are getting more sheep that God has blessed them. With more sheep comes more offerings and with more offerings come wealth. If wealth alone is a result of being blessed than all the pimps and drug lords of the world would have been very blessed by God. If more sheep is the result of being blessed, than the entire non-believing pagan people would be very blessed since there are more of them than us.

I leave you with this warning:

Matthew 12:36
But I tell you that men will have to give account on the Day of Judgment for every careless word they have spoken.
