You passed by a bar one night and what did you see? Teenagers probably your daughter’s or son’s age drinking and partying like there’s no tomorrow. As your car moves a little farther, you noticed groups of young people who appear to be having unlawful sessions. By the time you’ve reached the other end of the road, you saw lovers stealing fleeting moments of hook-ups. What is happening to the world, you began to ask. If this is the kind of generation your children’s children would see, people of today are more fortunate of having a dying world than a morally dead world in the next years to come.
What’s lacking with those people who have gone astray? Christian faith. They’ve been so overwhelmed with what their youthfulness could afford and what the world could offer that they tend to forget all about one ultimate purpose – knowing and serving God.
With the abovementioned scenario growing rampantly by the minute, inspirational Christian accounts may be the only hope worthy of providing? But how is this possible with the world slowly losing its morale? The following words will shed light to the issue of faith and morality:
- Set good examples – The youth of today are overpowered with earthly desires. What’s even more alarming is that they wind up becoming threats to the society. If they become a big peril to their community, they wind up behind bars. And if they end up in jail, it isn’t an assurance that prison reform could transform them to civilized and well-mannered citizens. Therefore, before your child or someone else ends up as public’s ultimate enemy, you as parents must take the responsibility of molding your children to become better individuals with high regards to authority, respect to other people’s rights, and fear of God.
- The introduction of Christian values at an early age – The best time to instill Christian values to a child is not when he’s come of age, but the moment he learns his words, distinguishes right from wrong, and realizes even in his own immature way the purpose of living. Even a simple baby step of reading a Christian book to your child could greatly contribute to his becoming a full-pledged Christian all geared up in advancing God’s kingdom.

Most Christian pastors today appear to have little in common with the preachers of times past.
King George had provoked many of these men to leave England by demanding that they submit to licensing (State Run Churches - like today’s 501 3(c) churches) by the crown; but they submitted to no man; save God, only.
More than attire sets these preachers apart. They had backbone. They had a fire loosed within them that could not be put out by being threatened by loss of property, imprisonment or even death.
The Black Regiment was composed of men of various Christian denominations who courageously championed the cause of liberty and independence and who preached fervently and faithfully the message of redemption and Biblical Sovereignty and Authority.
Unlike most pastors today, they were untouchable and relentless in the fight for human Liberties, Freedoms and God given rights.
Preachers of the black robes were found among Baptists, Presbyterians, Episcopalians, German Reformed, Lutherans, Congregationalists, and others. They were young and old, loud and soft-spoken, rough and gentle, and urban and rural. They differed on secondary doctrines and never surrendered their theological distinctions.
Although different in many regard, they all believed in the same biblical truth that, man is created in the image of God and given inalienable rights of Freedom and independence; precious gifts of God, not to be trampled under foot by men; and human authority was limited and particular, and subject to proper divine parameters, and the soul and mind of man were never to be enslaved by any master, save Christ Himself.
Membership in the Black Regiment was unofficial and without human oversight.
Pastors today would probably be surprised to learn of the active political role colonial preachers had in America's fight for independence.
Had it not been for the activism of America's pulpits, our independence would never have been won, and this nation would not exist.
It’s unfortunate that today, only a handful of pastors and clergy have any knowledge of the Black Robed Regiment; although, up to the Twentieth Century it was well known that, the Black Robe Regiment was an intricate, even crucial, part of America's successful break with the Crown.
As one reads the colonial history of the United States, he or she must be struck with the observation that the American people, on the whole, seemed to (unlike today) appreciate the courage and independence of their preachers. Even America's early political leaders shared in this appreciation.
For instance, John Adams once remarked,
"It is the duty of the clergy to accommodate their discourses to the times, to preach against such sins as are most prevalent, and recommend such virtues as are most wanted. For example, if exorbitant ambition and venality are predominant, ought they not to warn their hearers against those vices? If public spirit is much wanted, should they not inculcate this great virtue? If the rights and duties of Christian magistrates and subjects are disputed, should they not explain them, show their nature, ends, limitations, and restrictions, how much so ever it may move the gall of Massachusetts?"
The problem today is that America's preachers have taken off the black robes and put on yellow ones!
Where is preaching against prevalent sins?
Where is the spiritual, scriptural explanation concerning the rights and duties, limitations and restrictions of Christian magistrates from America's pulpits today?
The famed Nineteenth Century revivalist Charles G. Finney had some trenchant words on this subject. He said,
"If there is a decay of conscience, the pulpit is responsible for it.
If the public press lacks moral discernment, the pulpit is responsible for it.
If the church is degenerate and worldly, the pulpit is responsible for it.
If the world loses its interest in Christianity, the pulpit is responsible for it.
If Satan rules in our halls of legislation, the pulpit is responsible for it.
If our politics become so corrupt that the very foundations of our government are ready to fall away, the pulpit is responsible for it."
Both John Adams and Charles Finney were right on target!
When was the last time you heard a nationally renowned Christian pastor speak out against abortion, human rights and human dignity, hunger, a One World Government and One World Order as predicted in Scripture.
When have you heard them speak against the demise of our God given rights and liberties; that the constitution has recognized, and is supposed to protect? BUT, have been taken away by Executive Orders and illegal Acts of Congress such as the Patriot Act, or other similar encroachments?
When did you hear them renouncing the way the White House and Congress are facilitating the invasion of our country by illegal aliens?
The answer is you haven't and you won't; and the reason for that is because they are a ‘State’ owned or ‘State’ run church. (501 3(c)) Today’s pastors have a gag order and live in fear, not faith.
Attending congregations (YOU) are no help either because, you have ‘tickling ears’ and want to be entertained… to get away from it all, if even for just an hour or so a week. SHAME ON YOU! Support your pastor. Encourage him to do and speak, without fear, the will of God. If he doesn’t, find and support another pastor that will.
In this regard, the words of the great German reformer, Martin Luther, comes to mind:
"If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ however boldly I may be professing Christ. Where the battle rages there the loyalty of the soldier is proved; and to be steady on all the battlefield besides is mere flight and disgrace if he flinches at that point."
It appears obvious that a majority of our pastors are absent from the battlefield, and that is precisely the reason our country is in its current state of disarray.
Why does it seem that Americans are the only people on earth who are blind to the truth and ignorant of their history?
Wherever you look, we can see the vision of freedom that once deluged our shores, being swept away.
We have to wonder, how much longer can our American Republic survive?
Our government has become a great candy machine spewing out an endless stream of treats to lucky ‘entitled’ people, and we have to pay the bill for it!
What we need in this nation is a political revolution like the one we had in 1776.
(Not like the comical ‘tea parties’ where we send a teabag to your elected officials)
We are NOT advocating violence, but something more must be done.
Look what Ghandi did. Civil disobediance. (LARGE SCALE Sit-ins, Don’t go to work, Don’t have tax taken from your check. Can you imagine how the government would operate if it had to wait for YOUR money?)
Above all, I believe we need pastors and Christian leaders who are willing to stand up to our current batch of spoiled secular bureaucrats; pastors who read and understand such great patriots as Noah Webster, who in his History of the United States wrote:
“Almost all the civil liberty now enjoyed in the world owes its origin to the principles of the Christian religion….
The religion which, has introduced civil liberty, is the religion of Christ and His apostles, which enjoins humility, piety, and benevolence; which acknowledges in every person a brother or sister and a citizen with equal rights. “
This is genuine Christianity, and to this we owe the Republic form of government.
We need pastors who reject the lie, that, our national ideals stem from the influence of French Enlightenment rather than from the Bible and Christianity; pastors who, with John Wingate Thornton, understand that
“To the Pulpit, the Puritan Pulpit, we owe the moral force which won our independence.”
We need pastors who realize that, our independence today stems from one thing, and one thing only:
From the biblical concept that all men are created in the image of God, and because of this all men are entitled to equal treatment and unalienable rights.
In short, we need men of God staunchly opposed to the divine right of kings; who cry out…
“Restore the crown rights of King Jesus!”
Many of the Black Regiment wrote impassioned pleas for freedom, and some joined the Continental Army.
When George Washington asked Lutheran pastor John Muhlenberg to raise a regiment of volunteers, Muhlenberg gladly agreed.
Before marching off to join Washington’s army, he delivered a powerful sermon from Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 that concluded with these words:
The Bible tells us there is a time for all things and there is a time to preach and a time to pray but the time for me to preach has passed away, and there is a time to fight, and that time has come now. Now is the time to fight! Call for recruits! Sound the drums!
Then Muhlenberg took off his clerical robe to reveal the uniform of a Virginia Colonel. Grabbing his musket from behind the pulpit, he donned his Colonel’s hat and marched off to war.
What America needs, more than anything else is a resurrected Black Robed Regiment!
Do you have a fire that burns within?
Are you willing to say…?
“I will fight for the truth.”
“I will be beholden to no one (whether a Democrat, Republican, or Other) except Jesus.”
“I will stand up to the despots who are seeking to enslave us all by sending our children to their deaths as they build their New World Order and as they tax us into poverty.”
“I will seek to bind our politicians with the chains of the Constitution. And I will do this for the glory of God and the advancement of Christian liberty.”
