God hates sin, and that he punishes it without mercy when men continue in it. We can see how much God hates sin by the future punishment he has promised to the wicked. Please read 2 Peter 2:4-9). The wicked people in this world who live in unrepentant sin against God refuse to accept this truth. God hates evil and commands all believers to hate evil. The wicked attempt to REDEFINE God by corrupting the Bible and twisting the truth (Romans 1:25).

When you gave your life to Jesus, God didn’t just forgive you and leave you the same. He made you a new creature! Your old, death-infested, sin-enslaved nature passed away. Everything in your spirit became new. He who knew no sin was made to be sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (II Corinthians 5:17, 21.)

The Baptism of John- Repentance

The Baptism of Jesus- Anointing, begins ministry of prophet and priesthood

The Baptism of Fire- Purifying or judgment

The Baptism of Moses- Deliverance of the nation Israel

The Baptism of the Cross (or Cup)- The suffering of death for our sins

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit- Being saved and put in the body of Christ also for service.

The Believers Baptism- Identification with Christ by water baptism.

Baptism

Baptism is to identify with a person, a group of people or the message.

The Baptism of John - Matt. 3:6-11.(repentance)

The water was symbolic of the Kingdom of God which John was preaching. When a person was baptized by John, he was identification with the coming Messiah and his kingdom. The new believer was "identified" with Johns message of repentance, they then became part of the believing remnant, it was the person who was the messiah they were looking forward to.

To be baptized by John was a spiritual identification a visible sign of their repentance ,Johns proclamation was the coming "Kingdom of God" and to prepare oneself by repenting to prepare their heart.

Acts 13: 24: "Before the coming of Jesus, John preached repentance and baptism to all the people of Israel."

All the apostles except one were baptized by John and following his ministry. (the exception is Paul who saw the risen Christ) Acts 1: 21 "Therefore it is necessary to choose one of the men who have been with us the whole time the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, 22 beginning from John's baptism to the time when Jesus was taken up from us. For one of these must become a witness with us of his resurrection."

The Baptism of Jesus

Jesus was baptized in the Jordan by John the Baptist, and began his ministry after he was consecrated Luke 3: 21

Acts 10:38 tells us that He was anointed with the Holy Spirit. As a human, He was in submission to God to fulfill all righteousness and was anointed for His ministry like all priests.. He received a special anointing of the Holy Spirit for His public mission. ( Acts 10:38 ). Jesus was divinely consecrated for the work of redemption, being an eternal priest from the order of Melchizedek. In Matt. 3:15, Jesus tells us that His baptism was 'to fulfill all righteousness." The basic action of baptism is identification, so Jesus identified with righteousness in obedience to the Mosaic Law. The Levitical Law required that all priests were to be consecrated when they began their ministry at about 30 years of age). He being a man needed, to be anointed like the prophets of old. He Identified with the believing remnant and also with sinners even though he was not one also with mankind (sinners even though he was not one) (1 Cor. 5:21; Matt.3:11 ).

Remember he was introduced as the lamb to take away the sins of the world. This was a unique baptism because it had nothing to do salvation but a submission to the will of God. He Identified himself with the preaching of the Kingdom and repentance by John the Baptizer. ( Matt. 3:1-2 ) Jesus identified with righteousness in obedience to the Mosaic Law, to fulfill all righteousness.

The Baptism of Fire

There are two views on what the baptism of fire means: There is a judgment coming at the 2nd Coming of Christ when all nonbelievers are taken from the earth. Jesus taught several parables in reference to the end of time when believers and unbelievers will be separated Mt.25 the sheep from the goats. They will join the unbelievers from all time in hell who are waiting for the Last Judgment (The Great White Throne Judgment in Rev. 20). This occurs at the end of the Millennium when they are resurrected and put back in their bodies and put in the lake of fire. The Bible teaches that this baptism is for unbelievers in judgment.

Mt. 3:11: John speaking, "I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will thoroughly clean out his threshing floor; and gather his wheat into the barn; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

Only the Holy Spirit is for believers.

Luke 3:9"And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire."17"His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather the wheat into His barn; but the chaff He will burn with unquenchable fire."

This certainly is a reference to Mt.25:41 (also Mt.3:10; Rev.14:10)

we know this means judgment because John and Jesus explain it: John answered, saying to all, "I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. "His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather the wheat into His barn; but the chaff He will burn with unquenchable fire."

Jesus said Acts 1:5: "for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now." He never baptized anyone in fire.

Fire is often symbol for judgment throughout the Bible. Examples are the fire which burned the sacrifice on the Hebrew altar, and the fire from God which burned the watered down sacrifices of Elijah and the prophets of Baal.

Fire and brimstone fell on Sodom and Gomorrah. The world will be cleansed by fire as it was by the flood in the end of time 2 Pt.3:10.

Heb. 10:27: "but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries."

II Thess. 1:8: "In flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The believers are to go into the millennium, the unbelievers are "cast off" into fire. These parables are analogies to the baptism of fire.

The other view is a purifying affect

1 Pet 1:7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

1 Pet 4:12: " Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you."

1 Cor. 3:13: "Each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is." meaning our work on earth will have its test in heaven to see if it accompanies us into eternity.

The baptism of fire is more applicable to judgment than fiery trials in a believers life. (Read Matt 13:24-30 and Jesus' explanation later in Matt 13:36-40)

The Baptism of Moses

1 Cor. 10:2 tells us, "all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and the sea". This is a symbolism of Moses being a type of Christ. The water never touched them but they went across to dry land to the other side while the waters became a means of judgment on Pharaoh’s army that tried to overtake them.

The baptism of Moses was a double identification, the children of Israel are identified both with Moses as their deliverer and with the cloud ,Gods glory a visible representation of his presence, as they passed through the Red Sea. There was no water involved, when the waters were parted the Israelites walked on dry land, they went through the sea on dry land never getting wet. (1 Cor.10:1,2.) The Jews never got wet, but Pharaoh's’s army did ! When it says they were baptized into Moses it means in reference to Moses' leadership delivering them through the waters of judgment. When it says the cloud it was the glory of God leading Moses who led them into their journey.

The Baptism of the Cross/death (his Cup)

Jesus Christ "drank" the Cup filled with our sins. This was an expression of all the sins of the world put into one cup and poured out on Christ while He was on the Cross. God the Father judged our sins while they were on Christ. (similar to the bowls of judgment in Rev. on mankind) The "cup" being spoken of signifies God's wrath towards sin. Christ identified with our sin and He bore our sins on the cross being was made sin for us. (2 Cor.5:21, 1 Pet. 2:24.)

Mark 10: 38 (also Matt. 20:23 ). "You don't know what you are asking," Jesus said. "Can you drink the cup I drink or be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with?" 39 "We can," they answered. Jesus said to them, "You will drink the cup I drink and be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with," We are told that we are all baptized into his death Rom.6 :3 Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life." for one to have the new life they must die in Christ first. Accepting his atonement for us personally. When we die with him we are able to walk in the new life he offers.

In Matt. 26:39, He prays to the Father to "let this cup pass from me". Nevertheless, thy will be done.. in he states John 18:11, "the cup which my Father has given me, shall I not drink from it?" The "cup" being spoken of signifies God's wrath towards sin that would be poured out on him in our place.

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit

When a person believes accepts Christ as Savior, he is placed into the body of Christ by the Spirit and the spirit is placed in him. He is identified as a believer. 1 Cor.12:13. For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body--whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free--and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

Acts 1:5, Jesus said to them "For John truly baptized with water; but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now." Jesus is making a distinction between water and Spirit baptism, just as John did. John's water baptism always showed repentance. It looked forward to Christ whom they would receive. The Holy Spirit's work would be inward. This is the spiritual work of God to regenerate a believer and put them supernaturally in the body of Christ.vs.8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth." the anointing gave them the boldness to be witnesses (martyrs) wherever they went.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a New Testament teaching and experience. In John 7:39, Jesus, speaking of the Spirit, stated those who believe in Him would receive the Spirit when He was glorified. This event happened when He ascended to heaven and then sent the Spirit. Its first occurrence was on the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit started the body of Christ. He came with an audible sound rushing into the upper room came upon them and filled them all, so that they were endued with power to bring the gospel. This baptism was unique in that it also exhibited a dividing of fire above each ones head. This was associated with the glory of God the shekinah in the OT. tabernacle. This happened only one time never to be repeated in the NT.

Believers are place "in Christ", in their new position they now have access to privileges and blessings that come with this relationship. Ephesians 1 describes our new position in Christ "all blessings in heavenly places in Him." We are seated in heavenly places.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit was prophesied by John the Baptist, Matt. 3:11; Luke 3:16. by Jesus Christ who said he would send him, John 14:16,17; Acts 1:5.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is for all believers adopted into the family of God , It is how one enters the body 1 Cor12:13, Gal. 3:26-28. Eph. 5:18 tells us to be continually filled with the Spirit, in other words give him control of our lives, it is a daily thing.

The Baptism for Believers

Mk.16:16 "He that believeth, and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall not be saved."

There is a question whether this is speaking of water baptism or spirit baptism . Since this is Jesus discourse before his ascension and does coincide with Mt.28 it would be logical to think, it is of water.

The believer's baptism of water identifies us to the Lord Jesus Christ and symbolizes the positional truth of his dying for us and washing away our sins. The real baptism of the Holy Spirit places a believer into Christ, water baptism is a ceremony that illustrates the fact of Spirit baptism, an invisible event which actually puts one in the body.

Christians have a real identification with Christ in his death, burial, and resurrection. Water baptism is a symbolic identification with the person and work of Christ in his death. Rom.6:4

When one goes down in the water, they are saying, "I identify with His death and burial." They are declaring the Gospel that saved them in a physical act.

It is a representative act of identification. The individual is placed in the water, which means, symbolically, that he is identified with what the water represents. Which is cleansing. It is also a illustration of death being buried taken away from ones view.1 Pt 3:21 Denies emphatically that baptism conveys either the essence or power of grace. It is not the removal of the flesh (our carnal nature). Baptism saves through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

There is no mention of any blessing that is connected with baptism that is not also given when one exercises faith. It is a outward illustration of the real inward event.

The new covenant is ratified by the blood of Christ, his death. Its not water, baptism is the seal of the covenant but not the covenant itself. The veil of the temple was ripped open when he died not when he was baptized. There is no forgiveness without the blood of Christ, there is forgiveness without baptism.

Water baptism always comes after salvation. It does not precede salvation. When water baptism precedes salvation it becomes a religious practice, a ritual without substance. Believer's baptism is not a religious ritual in itself, but a indicates that one has a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Today's children face an overall absence of godly examples and moral living in a society! As parents, we need to parent them with a Biblical perspective. God does His part all the time. But the parents need to realize that they have a part to play in Godly upbringing.

First, as a parent you must live out your faith in your own life. Parents are responsible to train their children in all that is included in "the way of the Lord. Proverbs state that a child left alone will eventually bring shame. Parents should know so they can assist their children to make godly decisions. If parents fail to train their children in Godly way keeping their lives holy, they will be letting the world do the training to be unholy.

God hold parents responsible to keep training their children, even after they are grown, is found in 1 Sam. 2 & 3. In 2:22, we learn of the sin of Eli's sons: "Now Eli was very old, and heard all that his sons did unto all Israel; and how they lay with the women that assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation." It is obvious that these sons were grown men. We learn later that they were married. Solomon was trained right, but rebelled in his youth. Then, when he was old, he did exactly what Prov. 22:6 promises: he did not depart from the training of his early days.

The bible says that Wicked Children does not know God( 1 Samuel 2:12) they void of understanding(Proverbs 7:7)and are proud (Isaiah 3:5) Some parents incorrectly believe it is up to God to deal with their children’s tendency toward rebelliousness! As parents, God holds us fully accountable to faithfully represent His authority and standards. He does not leave us empty handed in dealing with our children’s wayward tendencies

Instruction is the responsibility of the parents, something our society seems to have forgotten. We cannot depend on schools alone to educate our children academically; we cannot depend on Sunday School alone to instruct our kids in the Word of God. In Deuteronomy chapter 6, God says through Moses: "These commandments I give you this day are to be upon your hearts, and you shall teach them diligently to your children" at all times. Parents have the responsibility to instruct their children in God's word by example and direct teaching. When godly people raised as godly children they make godly decisions and take godly actions that will influence the home and the society.

Hannah offered Samuel to God even before he was born. Hannah marked Samuel before he came out of her womb. Hannah sent Samuel to Eli, the priest at the temple. The surroundings were not very good at Eli's place. Eli had sons that did not do things that pleased God. They were very ungodly but still Samuel was not affected by their behavior. Parents must be good examples for their children, because children are natural imitators.

Many parents spend long hours working to provide physical things for their children, but they are so busy working that they neglect to give their children time and attention. The Parents have taken up the philosophy of the world hence Todays the children are left to their own freedom, parents leave children to raise themselves , and are exposed to confusion they stumble into in the hands of their friends ,strangers, schools ,daycares who have taken the place of their parents in their lives An atmosphere filled with, unrighteous, corruptible ,disobedience, lust, adultery, freedom to sin ,impure, violent ,sinful, immoral, ungodly ,condemnation will provoke a child to wrath and hence the child goes rebellious and choses to walk away from God walk his own way in life, disobey God and finally rebels against God ,In Ephesians 6:4 - Bring your children up in the training and admonition of the Lord.

How many Parents today say prayers for themselves and for their children? How many Parents teach their children the scriptures, Bible reading, importance of God and attending church, associating with Godly believers and friends, rejecting any thing which is sinful? How many Husbands love their wife like Christ loved the church, delight and respect in her conversation, protect and support her , Dedicate themselves ,their own home ,children’s life to Christ?

The apostle Peter is a good example of a person who was with the wrong crowd. Because he was with the wrong group of people, he denied Christ.

Further, Christian parents have a responsibility to not only set an example for their children of what a godly marriage ought to be; they also ought to show their children how Christian marriage mirrors the relationship between Christ and the church. If covenant children have a godless, irresponsible father or a worldly, rebellious mother, they are denied the benefit of a truly Christian godly household. Some people place an undue emphasis on money, career and success. While money, career and success are good things when used lawfully, they become idols when they become an end in themselves, when they are not used to glorify Christ. A Christian family needs to place their children above their possessions.

Everyone has their ups and downs in a relationship, but relationships are not meant to be disposable. There is so much divorce, broken families , single Parents because influenced by the society cultures, unbiblical concepts of love, happiness, fulfillment. Which substitutes for God’s law.

Pastor Terry Coomer in his article he said that According to the National Fatherhood Institute, 40% of the children in the United States have not seen their father for a year! In the last 15 years “fatherless” children jumped from 10.2 million to 15.6 million. 70% of juveniles in detention centers and reformatories are children of fatherless homes. Statistics indicate that “violent criminals” are overwhelmingly males who grew up without a father’s leadership. This includes 60% of America’s rapists, 72% of adolescent murders, and 70% of long-term prison inmates. One out of every four high school seniors graduate functionally illiterate. It is more than a physical presence.

There are many homes where a father is there, but that is all. They want all their needs fulfilled, but do not want to take the spiritual, godly, or normal leadership that God intended. Instead children grow up listening to their parents fight, cuss, yell, scream, spend money on all kinds of entertainment and material possessions trying to be happy.

The father’s failure to take responsibility and leadership in the home has created a valueless, unhappy, fractured home and society. This failure has had a devastating effect on our children and has spawned a multitude of wicked societal problems including delinquency, sexual promiscuity, drug use, and violence.

The family is in trouble in America because men fail to be the leaders God wants them to be. We desperately need to pray for the men of this country to do as God has commanded. The results of the men not obeying God have been disastrous. The great need is for men to repent of their sins, to really come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and then to be obedient to the commands of God from His Word. Men must be the leaders God desires them to be. Christ and God comes above the Culture of this world.

These below statistics reveal some serious problems that we are facing in the family, and these numbers were from 19 years ago and are much worse now.

The Lord’s curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous.” Proverbs 3:24. God says that marriage is for a lifetime. In 1 Corinthians 7:10-11, the wife is told not to depart from her husband, but if she does depart, she is given two choices: She is to stay unmarried, or she is to be reconciled to her husband.

1. Divorces granted 1970--708,000, 1980--1,170,000 up 65%

2. Unmarried couples 1970--523,000, 1980--1,346,000 up 157%

3. Persons living alone 1970--10,851,000, 1980--17,202,000 up 58.5%

4. Children living with two parents 1970--58,926,000, 1980--48,295,000 down 18%

5. Children living with one parent 1970--8,230,000, 1980--11,528,000 up 40.1%

6. Families with both husband and wife working 1970--20,327,000, 1980--24,253,000 up 19.4%

God largely uses parents to train children for His purposes and he directs parents in the training of their children by His Word and the Holy Spirit.

Discipline your son, for in that there is hope; do not be a willing party to his death.” Proverbs 19:18

Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you punish him with the rod, he will not die. Punish him with the rod and save his soul from death.” Proverbs 23:13-14.

This is the sixth article of the series:

"The Foreigner woman in Bible versus Quran"

In the previous articles of this series, we have seen that Language-wise, the "foreign" woman or the "strange" woman is the alien or the exotic or the outsider woman.  However, the Bible has another opinion. As determined by the Bible: the "foreign" woman or the "strange" woman is the non-Israelite woman or the non-Jewish woman.

As a result, all non-Israelite or the non-Jewish women are "foreign" women or "strange" women.

This indicates that the women in the Bible are but one of two categories; they are either Legitimate (genuine) or Foreign (strange).

According to the inspired word of God (Nehemiah 10 and Nehemiah 13), the Bible asserts that Nehemiah said

And the rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the porters, the singers, the Nethinim, and all they that had separated themselves from the peoples of the lands unto the law of God, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, and every one who had knowledge, and understanding; They clave to their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a curse, and into an oath, to walk in God's law, and that we would not give our daughters unto the peoples of the lands, nor take their daughters for our sons;

On that day they read in Torah that no Ammonite or Moabite should ever enter the congregation of God.  In those days, I saw the Jews who had married women of Ashdod, Ammon, and Moab. And half of their children spoke the language of Ashdod, and they could not speak in the Jews' language, but only the language of each people. And I confronted them and cursed them and smote some of them and pulled out their hair. And I made them take oath in the name of God, saying, "You shall not give your daughters to their sons, or take their daughters for your sons or for yourselves. Did not Solomon king of Israel sin on account of such Foreign Women? Among the many nations there was no king like him. Nevertheless, Foreign Women made even him to sin. Shall we then listen to you and do all this great evil and act treacherously against our God by marrying foreign women?"   And one of the sons of Eliashib the high priest, was the son-in-law of Sanballat the Horonite (i.e. married a foreign woman). Therefore I chased him from me.  Remember them, O my God, because they have desecrated the priesthood and the covenant of the priesthood and the Levites.  Thus I cleansed them from everything foreign, and I established the duties of the priests and Levites, each in his work.

In addition, Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary on the Bible says: "Israel was a peculiar people, and not to mingle with other nations."

It should be emphasized that although the Bible says that no Ammonite or Moabite should forever enter the congregation of God; however, the righteous "Ruth", the grandmother of King David and the ancestor of the Lord Jesus was Moabite!!

On the other hand, the Quran says that all women are equal.

In the whole Quran, the idiom: "foreign woman" or the "strange" woman is not mentioned therein; all women are equal in their rights and duty regardless of race, color, location etc.  For details, read the previous articles of this series.

However, the exception in the Quran is only for Muhammad's wives who were peculiar women.

Muhammad's wives were peculiar women

Verses 33:28-31 of the Quran talk about how peculiar were the wives of the Prophet Muhammad.

Although Muhammad was a very rich man, he had a lot of money, and he could live a very luxury life with all of the life adornments and splendors; however, he lived a tough life, a life of asceticism; and he used to give all of his money to the poor people. His wives asked him, one day, for some of the adornments of this world like the other women who lived around. Then, Allah gave them in the Quran two options to choose one of them.

The first option: O Prophet Muhammad! Say to your wives: ‘If you desire what is in the life of this world (and its adornment) and its splendors; come! I will content you with divorce and will release you in a gracious manner; I will divorce you and will not coerce you to stay. This was the first proposed option.

The second option: But any of you that is devout in the service of Allah and his messenger, and works righteousness, - to her shall we grant her reward twice: and we have prepared for her a generous sustenance. This was the second proposed option; and Muhammad's wives have got it.

Not only that, but the Quran continues:

O you wives of the Prophet! Whosoever of you commits manifest lewdness; whoever of you commits manifest indecency, the punishment for her will be doubled. In other words, twice the chastisement for other women; and that is easy for Allah.

And whosoever of you is submissive, obedient unto Allah and His messenger and does right between herself and her Lord, Allah shall give her reward twice over a double reward, and Allah has prepared a noble provision for her, in Paradise, in addition to the twofold reward.

Hence, Muhammad's wives were peculiar women; their punishment is twice and their reward is twice too; and both are easy for Allah.

Moreover, the Quran (Verse 38:30) talks about Kings Solomon and says: What an excellent servant is, Solomon! Truly he was a penitent soul, always returning [to Allah] with glorification and remembrance at all times. He was ever turning in repentance (towards Allah) he is ever betaking himself to Allah and engaged in His obedience.

Herein there are two important ethical issues.

1) If the Quran is Anti-Israelite, and since King Solomon is an Israelite king, then the Quran would have exaggerated all the negative attributes of him that are mentioned in the Bible and would say: this is the behavior of the Israelite kings!  But, the truth is the truth.

2) According to the Islamic teachings (Quran and Hadith), anyone says or believes that King Solomon (or any other Prophet) did evil, did not follow his Lord, built high places for other gods because of his 700 foreign wives is categorized as disbeliever  and he or she will dwell in the Eternal Hell in the Afterlife.

For more details, you can read on the internet my series of 25 articles about King Solomon in the Quran; just type on Google search engine: "Not in Bible But in Quran" + King Solomon + my name.

The Bible: Nehemiah 10:28-30 and Nehemiah 13:1and 13:23-30

 (King James Version)

Nehemiah 10:28-30

28And the rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the porters, the singers, the Nethinims, and all they that had separated themselves from the people of the lands unto the law of God, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, every one having knowledge, and having understanding;

29They clave to their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a curse, and into an oath, to walk in God's law, which was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the LORD our Lord, and his judgments and his statutes;

30And that we would not give our daughters unto the people of the land, not take their daughters for our sons:

Nehemiah 13:1

1On that day they read in the book of Moses in the audience of the people; and therein was found written, that the Ammonite and the Moabite should not come into the congregation of God for ever;

Nehemiah 13:23-30

23In those days also saw I Jews that had married wives of Ashdod, of Ammon, and of Moab:

24And their children spake half in the speech of Ashdod, and could not speak in the Jews' language, but according to the language of each people.

25And I contended with them, and cursed them, and smote certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, saying, Ye shall not give your daughters unto their sons, nor take their daughters unto your sons, or for yourselves.

26Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel: nevertheless even him did outlandish women cause to sin.

27Shall we then hearken unto you to do all this great evil, to transgress against our God in marrying strange wives?

28And one of the sons of Joiada, the son of Eliashib the high priest, was son in law to Sanballat the Horonite: therefore I chased him from me.

29Remember them, O my God, because they have defiled the priesthood, and the covenant of the priesthood, and of the Levites.

30Thus cleansed I them from all strangers, and appointed the wards of the priests and the Levites, every one in his business;

==================================

The Quran (Qarib Translation):

Verses 33:28-31

?28? O prophet, say to your wives: 'if you seek this life and its finery, come, I will release you with a fine release.

?29?  But if you seek Allah and his messenger and the everlasting residence, know that Allah has prepared for those of you who do good works a mighty wage. '

?30? O wives of the prophet! Whosoever among you commits a flagrant indecency, for her the punishment shall be doubled, that is easy for Allah.

?31? but she who obeys Allah and his messenger and does good works shall be doubly recompensed; for her we have made a generous provision.

Noah, the just preacher of righteousness

The Bible says says that he was a "just and perfect preacher of righteousness." (Genesis 6:9, 7:1; 2 Peter 2:5)

Lot, the just and righteous

Out of all of the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah, God saved only Lot and his family. This was because Lot was, according to the bible, a just and righteous man (2 Peter 2:7-8).

Abraham

Abraham abandoned his first son, Ishmael, sending him and his mother into the desert to die.

Wherefore she (Sarah) said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman (Hagar) and her son (Ishmael) ... And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice. ... And Abraham ... took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness. -- Genesis 21:10-14

He then agreed to sacrifice his second son (his "only" son) to God as a burnt offering.

And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and ... offer him there for a burnt offering.... And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. -- Genesis 22:2, 10

Jacob

Now Israel [Jacob] loved Joseph more than all his children ... And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him. -- Genesis 37:3-4

Aaron

Aaron just watched quietly as his sons were burned to death by God.

And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron ... offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not. And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. .... And Aaron held his peace. -- Leviticus 10:1-3

Gideon

And Gideon had threescore and ten sons of his body begotten: for he had many wives. -- Judges 8:30

And he said unto Jether his firstborn, Up, and slay them. But the youth drew not his sword: for he feared, because he was yet a youth. ... And Gideon arose, and slew [them]. -- Judges 8:20-21

Jephthah

When the spirit of the Lord came upon Jephthah, he promised to offer to God as a burnt offering whatever came to greet him when he returned from battle. When his daughter greeted him after a successful God-assisted slaughter, he honored his promise to God by killing and burning his daughter for God.

Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jephthah.... And Jephthah vowed a vow unto the LORD, and said, If thou shalt without fail deliver the children of Ammon into mine hands, Then it shall be, that whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the LORD's, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering. So Jephthah passed over unto the children of Ammon to fight against them; and the LORD delivered them into his hands. And he smote them ... with a very great slaughter. ... And Jephthah came to Mizpeh unto his house, and, behold, his daughter came out to meet him with timbrels and with dances.... And ... when he saw her... said, Alas, my daughter! ... I have opened my mouth unto the LORD, and I cannot go back. And she said unto him ... Let this thing be done for me: let me alone two months, that I may go up and down upon the mountains, and bewail my virginity, I and my fellows. ... And it came to pass at the end of two months, that she returned unto her father, who did with her according to his vow which he had vowed. -- Judges 11:29-39

Saul

Saul offered to sell his daughter for 100 Philistine foreskins.

And Saul said, Thus shall ye say to David, The king desireth not any dowry, but an hundred foreskins of the Philistines. -- 1 Samuel 18:25

David bought her for twice the asking price (200 foreskins).

Wherefore David arose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred men; and David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full tale to the king, that he might be the king's son in law. And Saul gave him Michal his daughter to wife. -- 1 Samuel 18:27

And since "David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD ... save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite," we know that God approved of the transaction.

Saul was also a model for Christian parents who discover that they have a gay child. Here's how Saul handled it when he found out about Jonathan's homosexual relationship with David.

Then Saul's anger was kindled against Jonathan, and he said unto him, Thou son of the perverse rebellious woman, do not I know that thou hast chosen the son of Jesse to thine own confusion, and unto the confusion of thy mother's nakedness? ... Wherefore now send and fetch him unto me, for he shall surely die. And Jonathan answered Saul his father, and said unto him, Wherefore shall he be slain? what hath he done? And Saul cast a javelin at him to smite him: whereby Jonathan knew that it was determined of his father to slay David. 1 Samuel 20:30-33

Godly Father is kind, loving, compassionate, good provider, honest, hardworking, generous, forgiving, humble, faithful and reliable towards his wife and children. He .fears God and is obedient to His Word.

A Father cannot fully love his children and fulfill his role as a parent without having the knowledge and love of God because Since God is the perfect Father, one of the most important things we can do is get to know God better and seek him. Godly Father will keep Jesus Christ as the centre of his marriage and family. Godly Father must be right example for their children and obedient towards God and his family members. A Godly Father should demonstrate faithfulness, responsibility, caring, gracious, generous, keeping promises, displaying good character ,knowing interests of the family and controlling his temper, instructing and guiding his children in the ways and words of the Lord for their own spiritual development and well-being and lead his family to church, Bible study, devotional time, prayer , other spiritual activities , godly determination to preserve his family and keeping his family from all evil, temptation, lust, and unbelievers.(2 Timothy2:16)

My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent." Proverbs 1:10

Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of evil. Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn away from it and pass on." Proverbs 4:14

For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

"...all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned..." 2 Timothy 3:1-14

?For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into His kingdom and glory? (1 Thessalonians 2:11,12). Godly father goes to God often on behalf of his family, asking for wisdom and courage for himself, and protection for his wife and children, Job 1:5 tells us that Job rose early in the morning and made a sacrifice for his children. Father should demonstrate love for the mother of his children.

1 Peter 3:7 says a father needs to understand his wife, becomes the role model of a loving, nurturing person living in loving relations.

We need to remember that if any one says 'I know Him,' and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him."

A Godly Father will honor his marriage vows because he respects God?s commandment, He loves his wife and is not bitter against her. He will honor his wife as the weaker vessel, be there for his children, provide for his family, and be a good spiritual leader. (1 Peter 3.7; 1 Timothy 5.8; Matthew 22.39). But it all starts with his commitment and love for God. "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with your entire mind" (Matthew 22.37).

A Godly father has a good reputation. Proverbs 22:1 A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. In Deut 6, God says through Moses: "These commandments I give you this day are to be upon your hearts, and you shall teach them diligently to your children" at all times.

A Godly father will not think according to worldly way he avoids anything that would pollute the home like smoking, drinking, drugs, sexual immorality, ungodly people, bad television programs which is based on immorality, violence etc.,being workaholic. He will see his family members are clothed with humility, pure, righteous and holy.

By working day and night men cannot give diligent attention to more important matters such as God and attention towards family because the workaholic Father pursues his career at the expense of his family and he selfishly ignores his wife and children in many ways. In psalm 121, Solomon begins by telling us that unless God builds our house; our efforts in building it are vain. God is concerned with how high a priority we place on our houses and family.

The best way to raise godly children is, by parents being godly and setting and living as a Godly example . Some of the Biblical Godly Fathers are Noah, Abraham, Job, Joseph, Jacob, Jephthah, Aaron etc.

As parents, we need to teach our children to seek godly character, for themselves, and in those with whom they would associate. Along with loving God and being a godly example by committing ourselves to His commands, we need to ?Repeat them again and again to our children. Talk about them when we are at home and when we are away on a journey, when we are lying down and when we are getting up again. Tie them to our hands as a reminder, and wear them on our forehead. Write them on the doorposts of our house and on our gates? (Deuteronomy 6:7-9).

Here is what Bible tells on godliness:

For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. 1 Timothy 4:8

But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. 1 Timothy 6:11

The Jewish feasts are like treasure ready to be discovered. Celebrating them opens the door to changing your family's life
forever. They actually are an extension of the life-giving power of Jesus. Let's take a look at the 7 reasons you will want
to make them a permanent part of your life.

1) Awesome displays of God's miracles in the early Church were common UNTIL the middle of the 4th century. They began to
disappear when the Roman emperor Constantine discouraged any connection between the Church and observing the Jewish feasts
at the Council of Nicaea in 325AD. I am suggesting there is a strong relationship between celebrating the feasts and experiencing God's miraculous power in your life.

2) I think almost all Christians would agree that God is the author of time. So why would the concept of God having His own
calendar be so strange? He revealed this calendar to the Jewish people, but it's available to you and me. We operate on what is
called the Roman calendar. Hidden in God's calendar are many opportunities for us to experience the fullness of His blessings.
Is it time for you to make room for the Hebrew calendar?

3) A strong start is vital to our success in life. We see this in building a strong foundation for our houses. We see it
in how we plan any new project. God recognized our need for strong beginnings by giving us 13 chances each year to get our
lives on track and KEEP them there. These are called the Firstfruits Celebrations. Through them, you can tap into a new
ability to start strong and rise to the top.

4) Are you overcoming the obstacles you face in life on a regular basis? This may surprise you,  but Scripture is full of
encouragements for us to walk in the power of God. We are called "overcomers", "conquerors", and "dominion-takers." Get ready
to see God's life-changing power operating in your family as you do 1 simple thing. Follow the Lord's instruction of keeping the Sabbath day holy.

5) Celebrating the Jewish feasts is an exciting way to bring your family together and prepare them for the challenges of life.
Today's culture is dividing and weakening our families. The average parent spends 10 minutes of quality time with their
children each day. These feasting times are full of chances to create fun family memories. Families need to learn how to
become teams again and have fun doing it. Your family, not the public school system, is the springboard for your children to
launch off into a successful lives.

6) If anyone has something to celebrate about, it should be Christians. Can others see the celebration going on in your life?
With all the negative stuff going on around us, more family parties are needed. And what's a great party without delicious food? There are many delicious Jewish meals for you to enjoy.

7) You've heard the powerful question in Church circles - What Would Jesus Do? You may have even worn a WWJD bracelet. Well,
would Jesus celebrate the Jewish feasts? Just look at the Gospel accounts and you can see that He did. The better we are
at imitating Jesus, the more successful and joyful we will be in life.

Our family has been celebrating the Biblical feasts for years now. Come take a more personal look at how you can start the same life-changing journey for your family through a free mini-course and begin celebrating the
Jewish feasts.

Are you feeling like you're considered Public Enemy No. 1 by groups like Barry Lynn's? Please complicated.
As noted above, those on the left definitely don't like me. A glance at the list of lawsuits with which that group has been concerned, and the kind of issues it condemns, makes clear that it holds a position precisely opposite to that which I hold on many issues. They want no nativity scenes in public ; I do. They oppose voluntary public prayers ; I support them. They attack public displays of 10 Commandments ; I defend them. They oppose priests talking about abortion ( and have even filed legal briefs and action against the pro-life positions of both the Catholic and Lutheran churches ) ; I believe pastors should talk about abortion in the pulpit since the Bible overtly addresses that issue. They want the pulpit to remain silent about leaders and policies that support normal marriage ; I inspire priests to address from the pulpit moral issues and current events related to Biblical principles. They support keeping the IRS concerned in monitoring what pastors say in the pulpit ; I oppose state having any authority over what's announced in the pulpit - even if it is something with which I strongly disagree, either Biblically or socially. Etc, etc, etc . While I do support a jurisdictional separation of church and state, I don't support the forced militant secularization of the public square that AU seeks. There's a gigantic difference between our convictions, and it is therefore unsurprising that they view me as they do.
A great disappointment to me about them ( and other similar groups ) isn't just that they hold a different view ( that is accepted and accepted ) ; the huge let down is the lengths to which they are going to attack me specifically and purposely to falsify reports about me. Apparently we really have records of those involved with AU who left the group simply due to the way AU purposely mischaracterized me ( charging that I make up history, for example. In my case, AU is not content to battle on the field of ideas but they sadly appear to think that they can prevail only if they invoke a disingenuous approach. When and why did you start WallBuilders?
As I started to read those early supreme court calls, I discovered that earlier Courts had ruled on plenty of the same issues we faced today ( e.g, Bible in schools, porno, religious expressions, and so on. That decision was written by Justice Joseph Story ( called a'Father of American Jurisprudence ), placed on the Court by James Madison ( called the'Architect of the Constitution' ) - actually no legal lightweights.
As I checked out the early decisions, I found the courts citing from works and individuals with whom I was totally unfamiliar - such as Judge Wilson and his Commentaries on the Law. In 1789, he was made an original Justice of the U. S. Supreme Court by President George Washington. While sitting on the Court, Judge Wilson started the first arranged legal coaching in America and wrote America's first student textbooks on law.

About David Barton

Today, the protection for the rights of conscience now appear in forty-seven state constitutions. The President's call to rescind these protections places him in direct opposition to four centuries of America's civic and religious leaders. Please share this info with buddies and motivate them to contact their elected officers, prompting them to save conscience protection for medical employees.
Protection for the rights of conscience is only one more reason that Biblical Christianity is so worthwhile to a culture and why its elements must be saved in regime policy. God Bless!
